Notice of Application for Formation of Bank Holding
Notice of Application for Formation of Bank Holding Company and of Application for Merger of Banks Steel Newco Inc., Peachtree Corners, Georgia, has applied to the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System ("Federal Reserve") to become a bank holding company and to acquire by merger (a) Synovus Financial Corp., Columbus, Georgia ("Synovus"), and thereby acquire control of its subsidiary bank, Synovus Bank, Columbus, Georgia ("Synovus Bank"), and (b) Pinnacle Financial Partners, Inc., Nashville, Tennessee ("Pinnacle"), and thereby acquire control of its subsidiary bank, Pinnacle Bank, Nashville, Tennessee ("Pinnacle Bank"). In addition, Pinnacle Bank has applied to the Federal Reserve for permission to acquire by merger Synovus Bank and establish branches at the locations of Synovus Bank. The Federal Reserve considers a number of factors in deciding whether to approve these applications, including the record of performance of the banks that Synovus and Pinnacle own in helping to meet local credit needs. You are invited to submit comments in writing on these applications to the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta, 1000 Peachtree Street N.E., Atlanta, Georgia 30309-4470.
