Notice of Community Needs Public Meeting And 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan Public Participation Activities The City of Atlanta (City) is preparing its 2025-2029 Consolidated Plan! We are asking residents and stakeholders to participate in the Consolidated Plan's planning process. Community Engagement activities are being held throughout November and December 2024. The City is committed to creating vibrant, inclusive neighborhoods where everyone can thrive. As we plan for the next five years, we need your participation to ensure that our community's housing, social services, recreation programs and facilities and infrastructure needs are fully understood and addressed. Together, we can create solutions that help everyone access safe and affordable housing, supportive services creating strong neighborhoods. By participating, you help shape the Plan's priority needs and goals and set a path for spending future federal funding. The City will receive an estimated $24.4 Million in federal funds from U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) over the next five years. HUD requires all projects, activities, and programs to benefit low- and moderate-income residents. Eligible activities broadly include: Housing preservation and new affordable housing Critical community and social services Economic development activities and programs Public infrastructure and community facility improvements Your input will also help us promote fair housing and equity in Atlanta, ensuring that housing opportunities are available to everyone, regardless of familial status, age, gender, race, heritage, and or marital status. This feedback is essential for the City's update to their current Analysis of Impediments to Fair Housing Choice report. A companion document to the Consolidated Plan.
