Advertisement for Bids Sealed Proposals Will Be Received
ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDS Sealed proposals will be received by the Architect, Goodwyn Mills Cawood, LLC, at their office located at 2660 EastChase Lane, Suite 200, Montgomery, Alabama, 36092; UNTIL 1:00 PM Local Time; WEDNESDAY, FEBRUARY 19, 2025, at which time and place they will be publicly opened and read for: MONTGOMERY AIRPORT TERMINAL IMPROVEMENTS FOR THE MONTGOMERY AIRPORT AUTHORITY MONTGOMERY, ALABAMA Work includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, interior renovations, new baggage claim conveyor systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical work, and Escalator equipment replacement; Coordination of the entire project, and all related work, as indicated in the Bid and Contract Documents. Project will be bid in Base and Additive elements. Drawings and Specifications may be examined at the Office of the Architect; and digital Plan Rooms of: Dodge SCAN; Reed Construction Data and AGC Internet Plan Rooms in Birmingham, Alabama. Construction Documents will be available to bidders, currently anticipated to be on January 21, 2025. Bid Documents may be obtained from the Architect by digital access/file sharing access for a one time administrative fee of $25.00 (non-refundable; separate check), and/or on CD (PDF format) for a one time deposit of $50.00 (non-refundable; separate check), and/or upon deposit of $150.00 per set (separate check), which will be refunded in full on the first two (2) sets issued to each bidder submitting a bonafide bid, upon return of documents in good and reusable condition within ten (10) days of bid date. Other sets for general contractors, and sets for subs and dealers, may be obtained with the same deposit, which will be refunded as above, less cost of printing, reproduction, handling and distribution, which is estimated to be the same as the deposit amount. Partial sets will not be available. To expedite distribution of bid documents email requests with a copy of the deposit check(s) referencing this project to Kaylla.Dixon@gmcnetwork.com. Hard copy deposit checks referencing this project should be mailed to Goodwyn Mills Cawood, LLC; Attn: Kaylla Dixon; 1660 EastChase Lane, Suite 200, Montgomery AL 36117 Phone No.: (334) 271 - 3200. Certified check or bid bond payable to the Owner, for not less than five percent (5%) of amount of bid, but in no event more than $50,000, must accompany each proposal. Workmen's Compensation, extended fire and tornado insurance, public liability and property damage insurance, performance and payment bond; and Builders Risk insurance will be required. Insurance in compliance with requirements, will be required at the signing of the Contract. AIA General Conditions, AIA Document A-201 "General Conditions of Contract for Construction", 1997 Edition, issued by the American Institute of Architects is part of the specifications for this project, except as modified by the Project Manual. Bids must be submitted on proposal forms furnished by the Architect or copies thereof. All bidders bidding in amounts exceeding that established by the State Licensing Board for General Contractors must be licensed under the Provision of Title 34, Chapter 8, Code of Alabama, 1975, as amended, and must show such evidence of license before bidding or bid will not be received or considered by Architect or Owner; The bidder shall show such evidence by clearly displaying their current license number on the outside of the sealed envelope in which the proposal is delivered; Bidders must also include their current license number on the Proposal Form. No bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of NINETY (90) days. A PRE-BID CONFERENCE will be held at the project site, Montgomery Airport Terminal Building downstairs Rotunda Conference Room, located at 4445 Selma Highway, Montgomery, Alabama at 11:00 AM, on FRIDAY, FEBRUARY 7, 2025, for the purpose of reviewing the project and answering Bidder's questions. Attendance at the Pre-Bid Conference is recommended for all General Contractor Bidders intending to submit a Proposal. Award of contract is subject to requirements in the contract documents including, but not limited to, the following Federal provisions: 1) Buy American Preference 2) Civil Rights Title VI Assurances 3) Equal Employment Opportunity 4) Davis Bacon 5) Debarment and Suspension 6) Disadvantaged Business Enterprise 7) Foreign Trade Restriction 8) Lobbying Federal Employees 9) Recovered Materials A Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Goal of 9.79% has been established for this project. The Montgomery Airport Authority, in accordance with the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 (78 Stat. 252, 42 USC §§ 2000d to 2000d-4) and the Regulations, hereby notifies all bidders or offerors that it will affirmatively ensure that for any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, [select businesses, or disadvantaged business enterprises or airport concession disadvantaged business enterprises] will be afforded full and fair opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and no businesses will be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin (including limited English proficiency), creed, sex (including sexual orientation and gender identity), age, or disability in consideration for an award.
