Mary Frances Carpenter and Nicholas Michael Schemmel David Carpenter and Mary Seroski Carpenter announce the engagement of their daughter Mary Frances to Nicholas Michael Schemmel. Nick is the son of Ken Schemmel and Annie Schemmel. Mary attended Lassiter High School in Marietta, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia where she received her B.A. in Communications from the Grady College of Journalism and Mass Communications. While in college, Mary was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. Mary is currently an energy communications professional in Washington, DC. She previously served on Capitol Hill for two members of the United States House of Representatives. Nick attended Benedictine Military School in Savannah, Georgia, and attended the University of Georgia where he received his B.A. in Political Science from the School of Public and International Affairs. While in college, Nick was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity. Nick is currently a pharmaceutical government affairs professional in Washington, DC. He previously served on Capitol Hill for a member of the United States House of Representatives. The bride and groom met while working in the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC. A 2022 wedding is planned.
